Rosetta Stone® on Google Chromebooks
While Rosetta Course® will perform largely as designed on Chromebooks (computers that run the Google Chrome operating system), writing activities are not properly supported by the Google Chrome operating system which will prevent the Rosetta Stone virtual keyboard from displaying. Rosetta Stone constantly strives to maintain compatibility with modern technology and is currently developing a way to address this known issue, which will be available in a future release. In the meantime, we recommend that you use one of the following three options to work around this issue:
1. If your learner has the option of using an alternative computer running either a Windows or Macintosh operating system, have the learner complete the writing lessons on the alternative computer.
2. If no other computer is available to the learner, you can assign the learner the Speaking and Listening Focus curriculum in Rosetta Stone Manager, as opposed to the default Standard curriculum. This will remove the writing lessons from your learner’s curriculum.
3. Alternatively, you can simply have the learner manually bypass the writing lessons by clicking on the next available lesson at the home screen. Please note that with this resolution, your learner’s overall progress will show less than 100%.
